Climatological Smoke Transfer Function Tool

PARTNERS: USDA Forest Service Pacific Northwest (PNW) Research Station Threat Characterization and Management (TCM) Program

SUMMARY: Using a 30 year climatology, researchers will create "transfer" function maps that climatologically represent the source areas that have historically had the capability of impacting a sensitive receptor. Researchers will repeat this analysis for a list of 1-2,000 sensitive receptors to be developed collaboratively with EFETAC and will utilize these transfer function maps to create an online tool where the probablistic impact of current fires can be determined instantly.

EFETAC's ROLE: This project is supported by EFETAC funding.
